What is a dirac?
The dirac (or dira) is a traditional Somali garment worn by women — a long, ankle-length, lightweight dress made from chiffon, silk, or voile, often adorned with elaborate embroidery and beadwork. It is worn over an underskirt called a gorgorad and accompanied by a matching shawl, the garbasaar.
